Old Kitchen Disposal & Recycling

The responsible disposal of your old kitchen is important to us. We only work with contractors who recycle responsibly.

The responsible disposal of your old kitchen once it’s been taken out is an often overlooked service. The removal of an old kitchen to prepare the way for a new one creates an assortment of waste materials, all of which need disposing of in a legal, environmentally compliant manner. Most old kitchens will have a mix of wood, electrics, paper, glass, pipework and even batteries. The volume and assortment can be a challenge.

Responsible Kitchen Disposal & Environmental Compliance

At Nicholas Hythe Kitchen Design Studio, we understand the importance of responsibly disposing of your old kitchen. Managing the disposal process is an essential part of our kitchen renovation projects, not only to ensure environmental compliance but also to protect you, the homeowner, from potential legal consequences.

Homeowners can be held responsible if their waste ends up being fly-tipped by contractors who fail to dispose of it properly. To safeguard against this, we take full responsibility for the removal and disposal of all waste materials from your site (excluding refrigerators and freezers which must be collected by your local council), ensuring you don’t have to worry about arranging trips to the tip or coordinating waste collection.

We work with the Mick George Group, our trusted waste contractors who are fully compliant and accredited. They guarantee a 100% diversion of waste from landfills, repurposing it back into industry and agriculture, either as new materials or sustainable energy. Their advanced recycling facilities uphold the highest environmental goals and service standards, ensuring that your old kitchen components are handled with the utmost responsibility.
Our commitment to sustainability extends throughout our operations. We work only with contractors and suppliers who adhere to strict environmental principles, focusing on recycling and minimising waste sent to landfill. We also prioritise sourcing wood from sustainable supplies and obtaining as many goods and services as possible from near our Cambridgeshire headquarters to reduce our environmental impact.
By choosing Nicholas Hythe, you ensure that the disposal of your old kitchen is handled legally and ethically, aligning with both environmental standards and protecting you from any legal implications related to improper waste disposal.
