Matt Finish Kitchens Cambridgeshire

Matt Finish Kitchens

Matt and painted wood finish kitchens deliver a real depth of finish and work really well in contemporary finishes because they offer a broader choice of colour finishes too.

Matt finish kitchens don’t reflect light like a gloss version. They deliver a flat look but give a strong sense of depth of colour and they work particularly well in modern and contemporary settings.

Matt Finish Kitchen Designs in Cambridgeshire

In the world of kitchen design, matt finish kitchens are often seen as the epitome of understated elegance and versatile style. Unlike their glossy counterparts, which can reflect light and create varying effects depending on the lighting, matt finishes deliver a consistently smooth and subdued look that appeals to those seeking a more sophisticated and serene ambiance.

Matt finishes, available in painted wood or other materials, often evoke a sense of warmth and intimacy that can feel less clinical and more inviting. With a broad spectrum of colours to choose from, matt kitchens offer a palette rich in possibilities, allowing homeowners to experiment and tailor their space to their unique taste and lifestyle.

Texture plays a key role in the charm of matt finishes. Whether smooth and sleek or imbued with a tactile, textured surface, the matt effect adds depth and character to the kitchen’s aesthetic. Combined with natural wood finishes, matt paints create a harmonious contrast that can be both modern and timeless. The fusion of different materials and finishes leads to a layered and dimensional look, where each element complements and enhances the others.

Practicality is another strength of matt finishes. Known to ‘hide’ imperfections, they are generally more forgiving of scratches and everyday wear and tear. For families with children, where kitchens are often bustling hubs of activity, the matt finish’s resistance to fingerprints and smudge marks becomes an invaluable feature. The look remains pristine and elegant, even in the face of daily life’s little challenges.

But beyond the aesthetic and practical appeal, matt finish kitchens resonate on a deeper level. They are often associated with a sense of calm and tranquillity, creating a space that encourages relaxation and connection. The subtlety of the matt surface absorbs rather than reflects light, producing a gentle glow that can transform a kitchen into a sanctuary, a place where meals are prepared with love, and conversations flow freely.

At Nicholas Hythe Kitchens, we understand the allure and potential of matt finish kitchens. Our expert designers are adept at working with this versatile finish, crafting spaces that reflect the personalities and needs of our clients. From the selection of colours and materials to the integration of functional features and design accents, we create kitchens that are both beautiful and functional.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I chose Nicholas Hythe after they were recommended by a friend whose kitchen had made a fantastic impression on me. Designing my own kitchen was always going to be a challenge due to the age and character of my house. There are low ceilings, a narrow staircase, an old Victorian oven, and, to make things even more difficult, not a single wall is straight and the corners are certainly not perfect 45-degree angles!

I therefore needed a company and designer who could create a kitchen that respected the age and character of the house, while also being practical, functional and beautiful. Leon rose to the challenge brilliantly.

He designed a fantastic layout that works seamlessly with the original features of the house, incorporating an impressive amount of storage, as well as the most glorious breakfast pantry, which I absolutely love. I now have a kitchen with all the modern features you could wish for, while still blending perfectly with the historic character of the house.

The fitting was carried out by Eddie and James, whose joinery skills were absolutely first class. With the wonky walls and uneven angles, every panel needed to be cut to a slightly different angle, and their attention to detail and craftsmanship were exceptional.

There isn't a single aspect of the kitchen that I would change. It is a truly top-notch job from the whole team at Nicholas Hythe, and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a beautiful, bespoke kitchen and exceptional workmanship.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Billy (designer) listened to us and helped design the perfect kitchen for our new home. The service from him and his team was impeccable, and they went above and beyond to deliver exactly what we wanted and more. Having visited numerous kitchen suppliers prior to Nicholas Hythe we were very surprised to learn that Billy could not only design a superior kitchen in terms of the layout and quality - but at a lower price quoted by all of its competitors that we had previously consulted. (3 very well known kitchen suppliers).

The kitchen itself is of fantastic quality and we are genuinely thrilled with how everything came together.

Billy and his team were professional and kept us updated throughout. The interaction and communication with ourselves was exceptional. The kitchen was delivered on time, within budget, and minor issues were dealt with swiftly and efficiently by Jimmy who availed himself throughout the project for questions on the more practical elements of the design and installation.

Needless to say we love our new kitchen and would not hesitate to recommend the team at Nicholas Hythe to anyone. You won't be disappointed.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had an excellent experience working Nicholas Hythe. Bill helped us with some excellent designs and the team then installed exactly what was planned in a remarkably easy and considerate fashion.

We did hit an issue when damp was discovered after removal of the old kitchen. But, with Jim's help the best solution was found and installed.

We are delighted with the final kitchen, it looks great and is also so much warmer than the old one!

A kitchen install is always an involved process but we felt it went as smoothly as was possible working with Nicholas Hythe, and we would absolutely recommend them.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had our kitchen designed and fitted by Nicholas Hythe in 2020 and still love it to this day. Unfortunately, one of the door hinges failed recently and we struggled to identify a replacement on the internet. We contacted Nicholas Hythe to see if they could help us and we have to say they were brilliant. They could not have been more helpful and very kindly gave us a replacement. Their continued customer service some 5 years hence is rare these days. Thank you all so very much.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Nicholas Hythe have been fantastic. From the first day visiting the showroom, design, assistance choosing colours and styles they were really helpful without being pushy. Every step of the way we were informed of how and who would be doing the different stages. The coordination was amazing and the entire project went like clockwork, we had no worries and even left them whilst we were away. All the workmen were pleasant, respectful and worked to a really high standard. Result: one fabulous kitchen that has transformed our living space. We are so glad we chose Nicholas Hythe and thoroughly recommend them as a company.
We are very happy customers!!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. What can you ask for from a kitchen fitter? NH ticked every box for me. At the design phase they were detailed and meticulous, offering countless product options and discussions to suit our every specific need. All communications were handled swiftly and efficiently, with numerous on-site visits. During execution, the operation was just as productive, with a full schedule breakdown of works that was broadly adhered to. Unanticipated situations were handled gracefully, and no problem we raised was considered too trivial - everything was given maximal attention. All of that, and they aren't significantly more expensive compared to a DIY kitchen install. The payment schedule is logical and fair. This is a no-brainer! 100% recommended - 5 stars

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I am in love with my kitchen!

Professional service from start to finish and brilliant communication before, during and after the installation. The design plans were incredible and better than I could have imagined, and to see it come to life is amazing. The fitters and support staff were on time, polite and friendly. Every step was explained and executed as planned.

We haven't had a takeaway or ready meal since the kitchen has been done, as even when I'm tired from work, I want to be in there cooking!

I can't thank the team at Nicholas Hythes enough, the kitchen has been completely transformed and has reignited my passion for cooking and baking.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. It popped up on my phone yesterday that it’s a year since our kitchen was started! Just wanted to say that I smile every time I go into the kitchen, I love it and there is nothing in the design that I would change having lived with it for a year.
Ashley and the whole team at Nicholas Hythe were professional and cheerful. Emails every evening informed us who would be turning up and what work would be carried out the next day. I can't recommend them highly enough.

Which worktop…?

Mixing and matching worktop finishes is becoming increasingly popular. For example, combining two finishes such as granite and a wood area (for food preparation) – can provide both a highly practical and visually stunning effect. Quartz and granite are also very popular.

The beauty of glass

People are looking to make their kitchens easier to maintain by choosing glass upstands and splashbacks rather than tiles. Choosing a striking coloured glass – especially if complementing neutral coloured furniture – also allows clients to individualise their kitchen.

Matt finish appliances

There is a range of matt finish appliances on the market to add a touch of understated quality to your kitchen. Even a brushed steel type of effect can work brilliantly with coloured matt finished kitchen furniture. Ask our designers for more details.

We offer a wide range of modern kitchen designs, in a number of different colours and finishes
